*** Note: Please note that our elopement packages are based on just having the bride and the groom escape to the inn for a two-day elopement. If additional people are going to be invited for the event there will be an additional per person charge (adults and children alike) of $35 per person (if guests of the inn for two nights) or $75 per person (if not staying at the inn for two nights) to have a small wedding event at the inn. To ensure that the privacy and needs of the bride and groom are met and the needs of all of other non-wedding guests simultaneously, small wedding ceremonies that are not required to book the entire inn are limited to 8 people (including the bride and groom). Additional charges may apply for a larger ceremony depending on the details of the magic day and the number of additional people in attendance. Elopement or other small wedding ceremonies that will occur offsite or which request photographs at a nearby 2nd location or at a location other than the Berry Manor Inn or require substantially more photography than normally included in the elopement package will be charged $150 per 1/2 hour and $25 travel fee for the officiate. The Berry Manor Inn welcomes all couples to elope at the inn.
Marriage licenses are issued in Maine at any town or city municipal office. For people from out of state and planning to get married at the inn, you can obtain a marriage license at Rockland’s City Hall. If either of you are residents of Maine, then the license should be obtained in the town or city of residence. Both the bride and groom must visit the town office in person to apply for the marriage license. Your marriage license is valid for 90 days and can only be used within the State of Maine. There is no longer a requirement for blood tests nor is there a waiting Period from the time your marriage license is issued until your wedding can take place. The person performing the ceremony is responsible for filing the marriage certificate with the town office that issued the marriage license. There is a filing fee of $30.
To obtain a marriage license, applicants must be 18 years or older, have a photo ID (e.g., driver's license) and social security number. If this is not the first marriage for one of you, bring a certified copy (raised seal) of the divorce from or death certificate of the last spouse.
