The Rockland and Camden area is the geographic center of Midcoast Maine and the heart of the Penobscot Bay region. This area surrounding our inn has the best of Maine – scenic mountains and miles of rugged coastline, lighthouses and lobster; arts and culture; fabulous food and year round outdoor adventure.

Each season is unique in the Midcoast Maine area and offers a seasonal array of seascapes, activities, and events. The breadth of activities offered in the area is overwhelming and unlike anything else. What mother nature gives us for weather does not really matter as we have many indoor and outdoor activities to keep you busy. If you find yourself exploring the coast, plan on at least 3-days in the Midcoast area to do it justice. The Art Capital of Maine

Rockland has been named the Art Capital of Maine as the home of the Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center, the Center for Maine Contemporary Arts and over 20 art galleries in downtown Rockland alone. Enjoy 1st Friday Art walks May through October and extended hours at the Farnsworth on Wednesday nights in the summer season. Not to worry, although their schedules will vary by season our museums are open year round.

Particularly in the summer and fall seasons, there is a festival or event taking place in the Rockland area almost every weekend. There are celebrations to honor pumpkins, cheese, local farms, and of course, the lobster festival to celebrate our favorite food.
