Camden Opera House
(June 11 – September 4, 2021)
The Camden Opera House was built in 1894, and touted as Mid-Coast Maine’s premier event spot. Past notable performers include Taj Mahal and the comedic antics of Second City. And this year’s line-up proves to be another blockbuster season of entertainment. To our delight, local, regional, and international artists will take the stage in June, July, and August. In addition, the Opera House will sponsor two free outdoor concerts this season at the Camden Snow Bowl. Wrapping up the 2021 season on Labor Day weekend, legendary folk rocker, Tom Rush, will perform his special blend of ballads and blues.
Bay Chamber Concerts
(August 4 – 22, 2021)
Hosted by the Bay Chamber, this 2021 summer season of concerts kicks off on August 4 and continues throughout the month with 20 performances featuring 40 artists. While many of the concerts are free, the new pricing structure introduces “pay-what-you-wish,” with ticket prices topping out at $35. Visit the Bay Chamber website for a full roster of upcoming shows.
Jazz on the Water
(August 15, 2021)
Speaking of free concerts, Jazz on the Water brings together an ensemble of performers from around the world. Known as the Creative Ensemble Collective, the collaborative talents of these jazz performers present original arrangements featuring the works of popular songwriters from the past 50 years. The performances are held outdoors at Rockport Marine Park.
Music on the Green
(August 18, 2021)
Another free event, Music on the Green features the Oshima Brothers, a sibling duo of virtuoso performers based in Maine. Combining rich harmonies honed over a lifetime of singing together, Sean and Jamie Oshima often stun their audiences with dynamic vocals accompanied by acoustic guitar and percussion. Sit back and enjoy the sounds of contemporary folk and pop music while overlooking picturesque Camden Harbor.
Outdoor Summer Concert Series
(June, 27, July 18, August 15, and September 12)
This series kicks off June 27 with the noted Oshima Brothers. What’s more, throughout summer and early fall, additional scheduled performances include Michael O., Viva & the Reinforcements, Janae Sound, Mike Farris, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Visit the Strand Theater website for more details and to purchase tickets.
Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheater
(June 21, 28, and July 19, 2021)
Adjacent to the Camden Public Library, the Amphitheater will host a series of outdoor concerts. These much-anticipated performances will feature the big band sounds of the Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra (MoJO). Bring a chair or blanket to stretch out under the evening sky.
